Brian and Nan Carthew – 2006

There has never been a moment when we have regretted our journeys with Broome Tagalong.

The reasons are many as shown by the following list:

  1. The amazing leadership, all-round knowledge of all areas we went to, rapport and organisational skills of the tour leaders.
  2. Safety of being with a group of like-minded people.
  3. Making new friends and finding that every individual has something that we learn from, whether it be with vehicle set-up or camp-cooking recipes.
  4. Going to places we would otherwise never see.
  5. Knowing that no matter what problems occur, we will always overcome them.
  6. Comprehensive advice on what to take.
  7. Best of all, unforgettable memories of camp-fire camaraderie in the middle of nowhere.
Terry and Marilyn Stokes – 2006

The best way to explain our experiences with Tagalong Tours Broome is the tours are well organised. All the worry and stress of planning each day's travel and fuel requirements are taken care of. All we had to do was enjoy the sites and there were plenty. Every day brought new experiences as the photo shows us canoeing on the gorge at Lawn Hill. We enjoyed the company of others especially at night under the stars around a camp fire, cooking in a camp oven with a wine or two and a laugh and discussion of the days travels and what was to come the next day.

All the best for 2010 tours hope to see you at the C & C Show.

Garry and Beth Thompson – 2007

In 2007 the four months we spent travelling with Sue and John were fantastic. We had never been camping before. We found the tours to be relaxing, well organised and a lot of fun. Great company, beautiful scenery and no decisions to make! We would do it all again tomorrow if we had the chance!

Alan and Joclyn Fewster – 2009

We have loved every tour so much that we are coming again on the Red Centre and Cape York this year, 2010.

We must love it or we wouldn't keep coming back!

Roger and Veronica Elmitt – 2010

Now that we are home and settled we would like to say a big thank you for guiding, helping and encouraging us through the very enjoyable 4 tours with you culminating in Cairns September 2009.

As you know we were very green when we originally met you both at a show in McCallum Park in late 2006.

We were coming up for retirement and had plans to travel through Australia. However, we were very unsure of where we wanted to go, what to see and the mode of transport. You inspired and reassured us!

By Christmas 2007 we were ready to start planning, purchasing and preparing for the Big Tour. We were starting right from scratch – no vehicle, equipment, experience! We had decided to do the first 3 tours (as we could not make up our minds which Tour not to do!!) with an option on Tour 4. We thank you for your patience and invaluable advice during the next 6 months as we worked towards the off-day at the end of May 2008. To do the Canning Stock Route first off was a big ask but, you having checked out our vehicle and equipment and assisting by supplying menus and provisioning advice we were ready and confident for the Outback adventure of a life time.

The 3 tours (CSR, Kimberly and Red Centre) of 2008 were challenging, highly enjoyable and very interesting. Needless to say, it met (and often exceeded) all our criteria for safety, adventure and satisfaction in exploring our vast country. We would not have been able to visit the variety of places in the time available if we had undertaken such a trip on our own – we did not have the confidence.

In retrospect, we took the right decision in not doing the 4th tour and, as agreed, postponed it until the 2009 season. When we joined you in Port Augusta for the start of Tour 4 to Cape York we had traversed the Anne Beadell Highway (something we would never have dreamed of doing before) and met up with other Tagalong'ers for the longest Tour. Here again the route and timing allowed us to cover a considerable distance and take in all the sights with the added bonus of going to Thursday Island.

Now, having traversed Oz from side to side, top to bottom, highest to lowest, visited all States and Territories we take this opportunity to thank you both for guiding us and encouraging us to achieve the goals we had set ourselves from our first tentative meeting with you back in 2007.

Would we do it all again? You bet.

Were there any regrets in going with Tagalong Broome? None whatsoever.

Would we recommend it to others? Definitely, give us a call.

Having completed the 4 Tours, which was the best? Each had its highlights. If pressed we would say Tour 1 – the Canning Stock Route.

John and Sue, many thanks to you both from us (including Priscilla) for your patience, understanding and invaluable advice and for putting up with our idiosyncrasies, cooking challenges and climbing urges!!

We wish you good luck for future tours and you may use us as a reference should anyone be in the same position as we were 3 years ago.
