Background

John is ex Australian Army and both he and Sue have enjoyed careers in Education spanning 37 years including 27 years where John was a School Principal.

During that time they have visited and organised tours with friends and family to most parts of Australia, including the Canning Stock Route, Rudall River, Kimberley, Gulf Country, Cape York, Simpson Desert, Gunbarrel Highway, Central Australia, Tanami Desert and the High Country. Extensive 4WD experience in Australia’s outback has developed a strong affinity for the deserts and coastline and the flora and fauna specific to each area.

Since 2005 John and Sue have conducted four successful tours each northern dry season, including the Canning Stock/Route Rudall River, Kimberley Explorer, Red Centre and Cape York tours. All have been with wonderful people and every tour has been a different experience due to the changing nature of each group and the varying natural environmental changes such as weather, fires, new tourism options and changing management in the places we visit.

A new vehicle and improved technology has assisted them to enhance the true bush experience clients enjoy without taking away the essence of bush camping.

Environment

We operate on the principle that ‘You won’t see where we’ve been’ and support the Tread Lightly Programme.

Planning

Our belief is that if you are organised you don’t have to ‘rough it’ in the bush. We can help you plan and organise your vehicle, food and equipment and give you advice on what you will need and what you won’t need and how to pack it so that you too can enjoy with us some of the wonders of Australia while making new friends.

We will guide and assist you in the basic skills of 4WDriving to suit the terrain in which we will be travelling so that even beginners with your first 4WD or a hired vehicle can be confident that we will get you through your big trip safely.

For clients lucky enough to be purchasing a new 4WD we offer our advice as part of the planning package to select a vehicle that is suited to your family's day to day needs as well as having the capacity to handle any of our outback tours.

This service extends to equipping your vehicle with only the quality equipment that you really need thus saving you thousands of dollars as well as weight and space in your vehicle.

We give you storage and packing tips as well as assistance with food storage, menu creation, cooking equipment etc if requested.

Features

All of our tours are self-catered to allow for individual tastes. We provide a group campfire each night and we guarantee your nights under the stars will be memorable.

For those not experienced in the joys of campfire cooking we will show you the easy ways to cook almost anything you cook at home in your camp oven (you will need one).

We supply a communal BBQ plate, a toilet and a hot shower each night on tour water permitting.

The positive feedback from every tour makes this business all worth while and we would love to have your company too!
